Wednesday 22nd June

Hi Year 3!

How is everything going at school?

Thank you for your comment on my last post Karina - it was so lovely to read when I woke up this morning :)

I have also been enjoying emails from Ivy and Viola.

Last night I had my second game. I umpired New Zealand (again) vs. Great Britain. It was a great match. Here is a photo of me, Carolina from Argentina (my co-umpire) and the captain of Great Britain before the game - I think that is my tongue sticking out!!

Each match we have a photo with the two team captains.

Today Steph (my roomie from the USA) and I took the London tube (train) into the city for our rest day. We saw lots of wonderful things ...

Buckingham Palace where the Queen lives:

Some squirrels :)

Westminster Abbey where Prince William and Princess Kate got married:

Big Ben (the big clock) and you can see the London Eye (very famous ferris wheel) in the background:

I am reserving a match tomorrow and then hopefully umpiring again on Saturday.

I am missing you all!

Miss Seymour in London for the Champions Trophy!

Hi 3W,

I'm sorry I have taken so long to post anything - I have been super busy here in London.

I had a great flight with Singapore Airlines and arrived here on Wednesday morning.

I had fitness sessions and lots of meetings on Thursday and Friday and the hockey started on Saturday.

I did my first game on Saturday - New Zealand vs. The Netherlands with my good friend, Elena Eskina from Russia. Here is a photo of us with the team captains before the match:

I had a reserve duty on the Sunday and my next game is tomorrow (Wednesday) at 8pm - New Zealand (again) vs. Great Britain (the home team so lots of loud cheering from the crowd). It will be 5am on Thursday morning your time so you will be sleeping soundly in your beds while I am umpiring. For those of you that have Foxtel, you will be able to look up on Fox Sports when my game is on and watch it.

They have made us special cups for our tea and coffee and also special signs for our locker room. I feel very lucky :)

Here is a picture of the field and one side of the stadium. I took it when we went last week to watch one of the men's matches. They finished on Friday before we started. Check out the clouds!

I got my new shoes that I have to wear in Rio! Pretty snazzy hey :)

I hope you are enjoying your time with Miss Mudie.

I miss all your beautiful, smiley faces!

Be good.

Love Miss Seymour
